About

Validation is an engineering problem, so we built an engineering company.

Validative Systems designs and delivers engineering software, hardware platforms and custom test systems that help engineering teams develop, test and validate products.

We are not a software house that also sells boxes, and not a rig builder that also writes scripts. A test system is mechanics, electronics, wiring and software that have to agree with each other, so we build all four and deliver them as one thing.

Why we exist

Four problems come up in almost every validation programme.

They are not process problems that a new procedure fixes. They are equipment and software problems, and that is what the company was built to supply.

  • Too few test benches

One rig is shared by a whole team. Engineers queue for it, and a release date moves because of a scheduling problem rather than an engineering one.

  • Testing done by hand

Manual test runs are slow, hard to repeat exactly, and the thing that gets shortened when a deadline arrives.

  • Testing that starts late

Control software exists long before there is hardware to run it on. Faults found on the vehicle are the most expensive faults to find.

  • Results nobody can see

A folder of logs is not a report. Without one, nobody outside the test team can say what was tested and what passed.

What we build

Software, hardware and system-level engineering, in one place.

Three offerings, equally weighted, because a validation problem rarely sits in only one of them.

Engineering services — bench development, test automation, plant models, integration and validation support — sit underneath all three as a supporting capability for customer-specific projects.

How we work

Engineering-first, and driven by the requirement in front of us.

  • We start from what has to be tested

Not from a product catalogue. The first conversation is about the part, the signals it uses and what has to be proved about it. What we propose follows from that answer.

  • The test architecture is our job, not yours

Bring the application requirement even if the test setup is not decided. Working out how something should be tested is the engineering, and it is part of what we deliver.

  • One delivery, not a parts list

A custom system is handed over complete: rig, software, wiring documentation, a user manual, training and support. Enquiries and replies go through one engineer, not a queue.

  • Nothing locked away from you

Automated tests are Python files that live in your own version control, readable without us. Adapters for test rigs already in your lab are developed on request.

Founder

The background behind the products.

Needsfounder name and job title as they should appear publicly — from Gok

Validative Systems was founded by an automotive validation engineer. The work behind it is hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing of vehicle electronics: writing and reviewing test requirements, building and commissioning HIL benches, and getting electronic control units (ECUs) to answer for themselves on a bench rather than in a vehicle.

That work included diagnostics over unified diagnostic services (UDS), test communication on CAN — the vehicle bus — and test planning carried out inside an ASPICE process framework and with the functional-safety expectations of ISO 26262 in view. This is hands-on experience of working to those frameworks. It is not a certification: Validative Systems holds no ISO 26262 or ASPICE certification and claims none.

Part of that career was spent at a global Tier-1 automotive supplier. The products this company sells come directly out of it — they are the equipment that work kept needing and not having.

Where we are

Engineering in India. Customers wherever the bench is.

Our engineering centre is in India. Hardware is designed, built and commissioned there, and that is where a system is tested before it ships.

We serve engineering teams globally and work with them remotely as a matter of course. Demonstrations run online, or in person at our lab in India.
